Add a Venue

The page takes you through the process of adding a new venue to Zouk Timetable. Each venue only ever needs to be added once, so it is worth checking to see if the venue has been added already. You can do this at the Venues page.

If your venue is already on the site and you are following the Getting Started guide, then please continue to the next step: Add an Event.

Video

The video below will take you through the steps to add a venue to Zouk Timetable. For maximum readability, make sure you switch the video to full screen and HD for viewing.

This video was created for our Tango Timetable site but the steps are the same.

The following guide also covers the process.

Guide

Once you have successfully signed up, add created an Organisation on Zouk Timetable it is time to start adding your organisations events to the calendar. However, before you can add an event, you must make sure that the venue that event takes place at has been added to the site.

To create a venue, make sure you are logged in and click on the Add Venue entry in the Venues menu in the top navigation bar.

This will take you to the Add Venue page where you should enter the details of the venue of interest in the form. The details are:

  • Name

The name of the venue. For many venues, this will be clear. If you are using a particular room within a set of studios, please use the name for the set of studios and specify the room in your event description.

  • Description

The following parts of the Add Venue form allow you to describe different aspects of the venue. The text should be original or quoted with links & references from other websites.

    • Brief Description

An overview of the venue. For example:

Modern, dedicated dance studios in Manchester's city centre.

    • Facilities

A description of the venue's facilities. For example:

Dance studios, toilets & changing rooms with lockers.

    • Parking

Information about the available parking near or at the venue. For example:

There is parking opposite the venue, behind the bus stop.

  • Address

This should be full address of the venue. This can, if necessary, include the name of the venue. This can be necessary for venues which do not have a street number.

The map panel below the address field will display the location you have provided. Please verify that it is correct before continuing. If you have any trouble with this, please get in touch: support@zouktimetable.com.

  • Links

This section allows for the optional addition of website links associated with the venue. You might choose to provide a link to the venue's home page or perhaps to its Facebook Page.

Once you have entered all the relevant details, click Add Venue at the bottom of the form. The venue will be created immediately and you will be taken to the venue's new page on Zouk Timetable.

Initially the venue will not have been approved, however you can still use it for events. As a precautionary step, we are keen to review each new venue that is added. Once a moderator has reviewed the venue page, you will receive a notification letting you know it has been approved.

If you are following the Getting Started guide, then please continue to the next step: Add an Event.
